Compulsion anyone?  I was laying out in the sun today and started thinking about little compulsions people have.

It’s one of fashiontweets favourite subject during a dinner party. You see, most people have some type of compulsive behaviour even if they have to think about it for a bit before they realise it.

Some examples:

• male friend who always has to be the one to renew the toilet roll, so get this, he isn’t complaining he is always the one to do it, no! he wants to be the one to do it
• another male friend who has to be the one in the kitchen that fills up the dishwasher… this is slightly more common but still very funny
• my boyfriend the math geek who tries to figure out if he can break words down into 3 letter parts, for instance Pirelli is Pir-ell-i so that one doesn’t work
• an ex gangster friend once told me he still sits with his back to the wall and his face towards the door of the restaurant, just in case…
• my cousin who has to finish every drink in seven sips, that means a huge beer glass but also an espresso…
• my father who was told he is always slightly getting up from his chair in a meeting to sit down again and reorganise his chair just so

I have many compulsions myself as my friends will tell you. I organise the candles on a table just so, and if they are not organised that way, I have to get up and do it. Cabinet doors and drawers have to be CLOSED.  After cooking I want to clean up the kitchen including pans and the stove, before we start eating, I dont even mind if my food gets cold.

You know its probably one of my favourite subjects to talk about because it makes me feel less freaky myself…

Anyway, fashiontweet did not see many fashionable things today, but I might see some interesting things tonight as I go out for dinner with my girlfriends. I will let you know of course. I have been requested to post more pictures of people on the street so I will try to oblige…

I’ve been reading all the major glossy magazines stories about fall fashion for this year.
 
Fashiontweet is a big fan of fall fashion. We love summer as a season, but fall/winter outfits are just so amazing.  The luxurious feeling of the fabrics and accessories. .. Loves it!
 
Mostly we are supposed to be wearing a mix of yummy wool cardigans and sweaters combined with frilly, organza type blouses or dresses. They also speak about biker, rock chick type fashion. The secretary look remains current.
 
Jeans wise the skinny jean is on its way out, or so they say, and the more flared high waisted jean is on its way in. We think you can all still wear your skinny jeans, just make sure they fit well and be critical of your body type, a larger woman is better of wearing a wide leg jean. 

Happy to report I have found my black flat winter boot for the season. Just what I wanted, simple, with a little heel and no zipper. The kind that kind of slouches towards your ankle. I found them at Manwood, a great shop in Amsterdam South.

Whilst shopping there I noticed a lady that looked great with a really bold yellow handbag. See her picture below, doesn’t she look cute? She was purchasing some gorgeous grey Sergio Rossi boots.

PS, ya’ll might think fashiontweet doesn’t have a day job with all this shopping she does, but alas, I’m a regular working girl, blessed however, with a one hour lunch break…

Ever since Hillary Clinton lost to Barack Obama I haven’t really been following this election that much. But as I am taking my first steps into writing my daily updates I do feel oblilged to write something about it.

So, lets look at this from the most superficial standpoint possible, what do the first ladies look like and how do they present themselves…

Nice ash blond hair, neatly but loosely tucked into a bun. Lovely blue eyes and good looking skin. I like the large pearls. The red jacked looks a little too stars and stripes for me but the colour certainly works for her. I guess she is working her husband’s navy angle with that pin, I don’t love it but it’s ok.

Michelle Obama

I think she looks amazing. Her hair is stunning. Eyebrows? gorgeous. Make up? beautiful. That turqoise colour on her looks great.

Fashiontweet spent another day at her office today and for lunch I had a lovely salad at Oliver’s. I suggest you get the small version as that’s big enough.

After work, on my way to the gym I ran into a friend of mine who was carrying an interesting bag. It looked very simple and strong, a nice bag to carry with you for all that extra stuff that doesn’t fit into your cute handbag.     Guess what, its actually sold to benefit the United Nations World Food Programme.  We love it! your helping to feed people and not carrying an ugly plastic bag, hence also helping the environment.

I also ran into the Etos, my favourite drugstore, to check if this store had my current favourite bodylotion, it feels very rich and is dirt cheap ( € 2.39). Fashiontweet loves the more expensive brand name bodylotions as much as the next girl so this is a great alternative.

My perfect sunday and how I spend such a day? Well it started with a nice breakfast of course. Fashiontweet can’t think straight when she’s hungry (actually, when my blood sugar is low, I can get pretty mean)

Next stop? downtown to check out stuff at the American Bookstore and look at this beautiful wall full of magazines.

If you look closely at the right side at the bottom you wil see it!! very exciting I finally found the September Vogue.

I was not the only one who was excited to see it, I noticed this girl she had Vogue on her lap and looked very cute, wearing dark skinny jeans and a powdery chiffon blouse paired with some elegant black ballet flats and a large leather bag. To all the girls out their that cannot spend a fortune on a handbag, please save up and buy leather, it doesn’t have to break the bank and looks so much nicer than those pleather ones…

ps, I guess I like the timeless very darkblue skinny jeans variety as I wrote about them the other day, so I went and ordered a pair a while ago, but I couldn’t wait for them to be delivered so I bought another pair, guess what? the second pair arrived on the same day… do ya think I have some shopping issues ???
